About Michelle martin, lpc

It’s time to enjoy your life again.

You don’t have to navigate the path to healing by yourself.

I’m Michelle Martin, LPC, a therapist in Arlington, Texas. I help adults and teens who are ready to go beyond traditional talk therapy to heal from past experiences — so they can feel like the best version of themselves and finally enjoy living life again.

Sometimes the pain of the past shows up in subtle ways.

— snapping at people you love, avoiding things you used to enjoy,
or feeling disconnected from who you know yourself to be.

Maybe you find yourself weighed down by:

  • Anxiety that takes over in quiet moments or keeps you on alert, even when nothing really seems to be wrong

  • Past experiences that still replay in your mind, leaving you stuck in old patterns or reacting in ways you don’t understand

  • Grief and loss that leave life feeling forever changed, as if part of you is missing

What to Expect

In our work together, you can expect a balance of compassion and practical support. I’ll guide you in slowing down, making sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and learning skills that help you heal from the inside out — skills to help you reclaim your life and create lasting change.

We'll work well together if you are…

  • Tired of carrying old wounds and ready for something different

  • Open to exploring approaches beyond traditional talk therapy

  • Looking for a therapist who is both warm and direct

Together, we’ll focus on helping you feel calmer, more confident, and more connected in your daily life.

Therapy that meets you right where you are….

Therapy with me is about finding what works best for you. That’s why I combine EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-sensitive yoga to create a process that’s practical, effective, and never one-size-fits-all. At the heart of my philosophy is meeting you exactly where you are — with compassion, honesty, and patience.

Nothing you share will cause me to judge or abandon you. Therapy is a safe place to process what’s happened to you and make sense of your story. You won’t scare me off, and you’ll never need to defend or explain yourself.

I also understand that trauma isn’t only the “big” events people often imagine. Sometimes it’s a moment that caught you off guard, a relationship that left invisible wounds, or years of feeling like you had to stay strong for everyone else.

Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and can be:

  • Any experience that left a negative mark on you

  • Moments when you felt unsafe, unseen, or not good enough

  • Subtle experiences that still shape how you see yourself and the world

Every part of your story is welcome here — even the parts others haven’t understood. And you don’t need to compare your story to anyone else’s or wonder if it’s “bad enough.” If it still affects you, it matters — and it’s worth healing.

Clients often describe me as calm and grounding, someone who can help you slow down and feel safe enough to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work toward the kind of healing that lets your nervous system relax, your body exhale, and your mind begin to trust that peace is possible again.

Guiding Principles

Therapy isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about growth, healing, and learning to trust yourself again. These values guide the way I approach our work together:

Growth
Healing is a process, and growth takes time. My role is to help you slow down, tune in, and begin noticing the small shifts that lead to meaningful change. Growth doesn’t mean never struggling again; it means learning to move through life with more awareness, confidence, and self-compassion.

1

Collaboration
Healing is something we do together. My role is to walk beside you, offering perspective, skills, and encouragement as you learn to trust yourself again. I’ll bring my training and experience; you’ll bring your story and your wisdom. Together, we’ll find what helps you move forward in a way that feels true to who you are.

2

Start Where You Are
There’s no right time or place to begin therapy — we start with what’s true for you right now. Whether you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or simply tired of carrying the past alone, this is where your healing begins. From wherever you find yourself today, we’ll take the next step forward together.

3

“You can’t go back and change the beginning,
but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

– C.S. Lewis

Take the Next Step

You don’t have to carry this on your own anymore and healing doesn’t have to feel out of reach. If you’re ready to begin your journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as we take the next step toward a calmer, more connected life.
